There are two types of migraines, common migraines which have visual disturbances (called aura) as an accompanying symptom, and classic migraines which do not have the aura. Migraines with aura are will have you seeing stars or zig-zag patterns or some other visual anomaly around 30 minutes prior to the onset of the headache. Even with out the aura, you may have other indicators such as craving sweets, thirst or sudden exhaustion.
